Iwano Heizaburou is the only papermaker known for its thick, large size paper for engraving, drawing, calligraphy and conservation.

(*) Three fibers make up this paper. Structural hemp fibers provide high strength while finer kozo fibers maintain an even surface. Extra fine gampi fibers provide a smooth surface with extra shine. One of the few handmade papers made especially for painting. Its light weight makes it ideal for projects with delicate and sensitive prints, with the strength to withstand professional coats of paint. Their papermaking technique is a family secret. In their factory, they rely on years of experience and their sense of touch to produce high quality papers. These are by far the best large format papers produced in Japan.

The generous size of this paper makes it ideal for large-scale projects. Kuisaki (meaning moisten along a fine line to separate) is a simple method to leave fibrous edges for organic prints. The same method can be used to produce effective glue margins for discrete sheet joining. Delivery in France, in the European Union, overseas and in more than 80 countries outside the EU!
